A suitcase placed at the Exxon gas station near Shrewsbury Square in Pennsylvania on Sunday prompted a bomb squad to investigate after an older male, who was wearing a trench coat, placed the luggage near underground gas tanks, then left after being picked up by a dark colored Honda shortly before 5pm.
Two callers reported the incident to authorities. Fire department officials first responded and secured the scene where the York County Sheriff’s Department and a K9 Unit with bomb detection dogs investigated.
According to the Southern Regional Police Department in York County, the suitcase was cleared and was found to contain an antique typewriter. Anyone with information about the incident or the typewriter is asked to call police at 717-235-3944.
